This gen of games = American-made. This gen of games=suck.

After reading a classmate's blog on Blizzard and why it sucks, I was reminded of why I think of this generation of games and why I think of a shit I took when doing so. What the hell happened to games? Where are my Japanese games? I own a Wii as well, which is where I get my true fun game fix. Resident Evil 4 on the Wii is one of the best games ever fucking made and all of Capcom's employees should get hourly fellatio for deciding to use the Wiimote in such a simple and fun way. Here are some videos of the Japanese awesomeness that's RE4:

Here's another video from youtube, but the guy disabled embedding. His video is fucking sick.

RE4 was previously made for the Gamecube and PS2, with the Wii version getting the graphics of the Gamecube version and the extras in the PS2 version. Luckily, RE5 will be coming out for the 360 and PS3, so go Capcom! Thanks for those good Japanese games.

Why do I praise Japanese games so much? It's because the games aren't all about flash and excessive amounts of badass violence. American developers have a trend in making games with high polygon counts (ex: Gears of War). They also pretty much make shooters and RPGs (The RPGs are most often kickass like Knights of the Old Republic). Some American games lack substance majorly, while some are just fucking amazing like Half Life and Bioshock.

Japanese games are extremely weird for the most part, but the Eastern devs really do try new things. Really, what the hell was Nintendo thinking with Mario? Sega with Sonic? Nobody knows, but those games were extremely fun and are still fun with the exception of Sonic.

And yes, I am waiting for Final Fantasy XIII.
